Mon. 9/28 - Introduce cell division. Read pages 73 -78 and 80 -85.
Tues. 9/29 and Wed.9/30 - Discuss difference in cell division of unicellular organisms and multicellular organisms, the 3 parts of cell cycle - interphase, mitosis, and cytokinesis, and using a handout, discuss what happens in each phase of interphase, the phases of mitosis, and cytokinesis.
Thurs.10/1 and Fri. 10/2 - Using craft material, make models of the phases. Each student in the group will construct a different phase and be able to explain what happens in the phase to the group.

Mon.9/22 - Check tests taken Friday. Begin discussion of function of mitochondria and cellular respiration. Color cell parts on handout.
Tues.9/23 and Wed. 9/24 - Continue discussion of cell parts, endoplasmic reticulum and ribosomes. Discuss the difference between a plant cell and an animal cell, the function of the cell wall, chloroplasts, and central vacuole. Discuss the difference and relationship between respiration and photosynthesis.
Thurs. 9/ 25 - Test on notes
Fri. 9/26 - Possible test labeling the cell.

View Bill Nye video, Cells. Read pages 20 -24 and pages 56 -63/
Tues. 9/15 - Begin discussion of cell parts and function of parts.
Cell mebrane - discuss diffusion, osmosis, and the state of equilibrium.
Cytoplasm - gel -like substance inside cell membrane.
Demostration of diffusion and osmosis.
Wed. 9/16 - Continue duscussion of cell parts : cytoplasm, nucleus, and chromosomes.
Using a baggie with jello as a cell model, add parts as discussing these parts.

Learn the parts of a microscope, how to carry, and how to use a microscope.
There will be a test on labeling the microscope and today's notes on Thurs.9/10.
Wed. 9/9 - Using practice slides, each student will practice using and focusing a slide.
Thurs. 9/10 - Test on labeling microscope parts and Tues. notes. Begin viewing and drawing in
folders different prepared slides.
Fri. 9/11 - Continue slide drawings.
